KC Canton (they/them), was raised on Yelamu (occupied Ramaytush Ohlone land/San Francisco) and Huchiun (occupied Lisjan Ohlone land/Oakland). KC is non-binary, queer, detribalized-reconnecting GuateMayan, a weaver, caregiver, and a facilitator of magic. In 2024 they launched Crowfriend, their spiritual herbalism work in honor of their mother K. Paz, who was also a death worker in 2SQTBIPOC communities.

Johnette Marie

Poet is her most prized title alongside Black; medicine maker, sower, and ancestor in training are also true. Johnette marie is an isabella gardener luminary and callaloo fellow. Prior to studying creative writing and earning an MFA she received a master’s degree in urban affairs—driven to learn and to serve city folk through programing and policy. Language has felt key to her journey as she aims to uncover portals toward collective liberation. Alisha Lettman

Alisha Lettman is a spiritual herbalist, cultural seed keeper and artist, living on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-waututh) Nations. She comes from both moringa and neem: her lineage is rooted in Sindh and Afro-Indigenous lineages of the Caribbean sea. Her work focuses on nourishing the spirit with ancestral medicines through her brand, Cowries' Call Medicinals. Her debut products encompass the Polycrisis line - an offering of medicines designed to carry humanity through multiple emergent, overlapping crises by unearthing the roots of unconsciousness while regenerating wisdom and intuition. Alisha studied spiritual herbalism in traditional apprenticeship with Empress Karen Rose, Guyanese American Herbalist. She continues to study under Ayui Yu, Kichwa-Shuar Indigenous traditional yachak (wisdom keeper).

Telicia is a spiritual herbalist and wellness guide who creates spaces for deep nourishment, connection, and self-discovery. Rooted in a love for the earth and its medicine, she blends herbal wisdom, breathwork, sound healing, and yoga, to support others in returning to a sense of balance and wholeness. Her workshops are infused with intention, curiosity, and a reverence for nature’s cycles, inviting participants to slow down, listen deeply, and embrace the healing that plants offer.

Kamil Donaldson Bio: Kamil is a Reiki Master, Sound Healer, and Spiritual Herbalist offering sacred support through Gem Soul Healing and Gem Soul Herbals. Her work weaves energy healing, ritual, and plant medicine to guide others through grief, burnout, and transformation. With a grounded and intuitive approach, she creates space for rest, remembrance, and the journey back home to self—where inner clarity and healing can flourish.

Dara Pressley is a clinical and spiritual herbalist, educator, and founder of The Rooted Wisdom and Sassy Roots. Her practice centers Black and Indigenous healing traditions, combining evidence-based herbal care with spirit-led connection. Dara specializes in supporting respiratory conditions, autoimmune illness, skin imbalances, and menopausal transitions—especially for those navigating layered environmental and ancestral stressors.

In addition to her clinical work, Dara leads seasonal workshops, practitioner circles, and an apprenticeship program through The Rooted Wisdom, a school of ancestral herbalism dedicated to community, ritual, and the rhythms of the land. Her product line, Sassy Roots, offers handcrafted herbal remedies rooted in the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest. With every offering, Dara invites others to reconnect with the medicine of the earth and the wisdom within.

Kafayat Juanita is the descendant of Nigerian (Yorùbá) and Honduran kings, queens, warriors, fishermen, farmers, and healers. Rooted in the wisdom of her ancestors, she carries forward their legacy as a modern-day medicine woman, blending ancient traditions with contemporary healing practices. A Certified Reiki Practitioner since 2007 and Reiki Master since 2022, Kafayat harnesses the power of energy healing to restore balance and vitality. Working intimately with the Plantcestors, she crafts potent formulas guided by ancestral knowledge, communal wisdom and deep intuition. She regards her hands as sacred, anointed instruments dedicated to the service and upliftment of her people.

Kafayat is the Founder & Executive Director of the Bel Esprit Cultural Institute and the Founder & Principal of both the Sol Goddess Wellness Collective and Sol Ẹ̀mí Apothecary – all dedicated to cultural preservation, holistic wellness and spiritual empowerment.

Beyond her healing work, Kafayat is a seasoned Marketing & Communications strategist, with an accomplished career spanning global organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the American Cancer Society, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and ESSENCE Magazine.

A passionate traveler and global citizen, Kafayat has explored the cultural landscapes of countries such as Grenada, Honduras, Haiti, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Senegal, and Brazil. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French, Portuguese, and Wolof – a testament to her commitment to cross-cultural connection.

Kafayat holds a B.A. in Psychology and African-American Studies, with a minor in Dance, from Wesleyan University, and earned her Master’s in International Affairs & Economic Policy (specializing in Infrastructural Development) from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy.

Rana Snipe Berry, MD (she/they) is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, herbalist, womb practitioner, and menopause specialist. She is the founder of Root & Rhythm Wellness Solutions, where she will blend science, herbal medicine, and embodied practice to guide people toward balanced, whole-person health. A Black queer poet, they also use creative expression to inspire healing and self-discovery. Through their signature brand, snak•oyl, the inaugural line of Root & Rhythm Wellness Solutions, she reclaims “snake oil” as a powerful blend of science, spirit, and story.

Rana Snipe Berry

​​Jude Arielle (they/them) is a portal being + budding ethnobotanist co-creating sounds + frequencies that birth new conditions and realities with all of life. Initiated in the pathway of Spiritual Herbalism under the guidance of Master Herbalist Empress Karen M. Rose, along with the bush medicine, and red clay medicine practices ancestrally directed through their lineage, Jude centers being in deep relationship with the Earth as an answer to this current moment.

Jude co-creates in the ancestrally stewarded Lenape lands / Brooklyn, NY, where they weave sonic art + plant medicine centered in collective Earth liberation. This pathway of authentically inhabiting their truest parts has led them to perform in spaces such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Rhizome DC, community gardens space through the Northeast, and upcoming at the Alice Austin Museum. Regina Kankinza is an Integrative Health Practitioner and fertility specialist working at the intersection of the brain-gut-womb axis. Her work focuses on helping women reconnect with the intelligence of their bodies—particularly the inherited wisdom stored in the womb, gut, and bones—as a pathway to healing, vitality, and conception. Drawing from African American humming traditions, Mediterranean dreamwork, and the influence of her birthplace on Lunda land in Central Africa, Regina facilitates practices that blend ancestral remembrance with functional health. Marrissa has extensive knowledge and experience, having graduated in 2023 from master herbalist Karen M. Rose's spiritual herbalism apprenticeship program through Sacred Vibes Apothecary.

MJ's unique blend of expertise spans across various disciplines, allowing her to offer a truly holistic approach to wellness. In addition to her deep understanding of clinical and spiritual herbalism, she is also a talented music artist, skilled in the art of sound healing. Her soulful melodies blend with introspective lyrics, taking listeners on a journey that explores the complexities of the human experience.

Nat Strafaci (they/them) is a licensed therapist, clinical supervisor, psychic medium, and spiritual herbalist living and working on Yokuts land (Fresno, CA). Their private practice, Sunshadow Healing, centers the healing of Queer and Trans People of Color at the intersection of spirituality and mental healthcare. They are the creator of Palma Spirit Group, an educational and experiential space that support mental healthcare providers seeking to deepen their connection to Spirit. Nat is a graduate of the Sacred Vibes Apothecary Spiritual Herbalism Apprenticeship Program and Columbia University School of Social Work. Natalie Strafaci

Risë Wilson is Paula’s daughter, Vera’s granddaughter, and Adelaide’s great-granddaughter. She is a product of the constellation of plant-magic, lies, constraints, stardust, tree-mothers, complexities, resistance and surrender that inform Black life on this land. Risë is also an artist, herbalist, and serial entrepreneur. As an artist she is best known for founding The Laundromat Project in 1999, which pioneered the realm of socially engaged artmaking. Her twenty-six-year career at the intersection of art and justice has spanned philanthropic practice, artistdevelopment, facilitation, and public engagement. As a spiritual herbalist she partners with individual clients to bring healing to their whole person through custom protocols. Risë trained as an apprentice of Empress Karen Rose for three years studying the healing traditions of the African diaspora and has deepened her education through the study of MidAtlantic plants, as well as Taino and Shuar medicine ways. As a serial entrepreneur she is currently developing a new cultural facility that builds on the abolitionist legacy of Germantown, a historic section of Philadelphia where she was raised, by creating a 21 st century platform for liberation combining art, activism, and healing. Risë’s work—in all its forms—is preoccupied with dislodging herself from the bear-traps of oppression to help her kinfolk do the same.

Sadies Yanes Bio: Sadies “Sun” Yanes (they/them) is a queer brown herbalist who graduated Sacred Vibes Apprenticeship 2025. They work as land worker, gardener and teacher on Tongva land in Long Beach CA. Their most recent project focused on connecting spiritually with California Native plants.

Ericka Mabrie (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based Earth tender, spiritual herbalist, baker and carrier of faery medicine. She is the founder of Faery Good, an Earth-rooted microbakery and herbal practice for whimsical living. Rooted in animism, ancestral wisdom and the belief that whimsy is a source of power and resilience, her offerings help foster more connected and joyful relationships with ourselves, others and the green and unseen realms of Mother Earth.

Ericka Mabrie

Christopher Gooden is a father of four, husband, urban farmer, spiritual herbalist graduate, and community leader in the historic Fountain Heights neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama. As a passionate plant lover and tropical plant hobbyist, he and his wife founded Fountain Heights Farms to increase access to nutrient-dense food within their community. They also focus on providing education around building stronger community bonds,agriculture (more specifically urban agriculture strategies) land justice, and promoting self-sustainability.

Laura Shmishkiss (she/her), founder of Regeneration Herbals, is committed to creating a world where everyone experiences freedom, wholeness, and belonging. Through her practice of advancing social and healing justice, she actively builds our collective capacity to resist systems of oppression and to cultivate lives rich in inspiration, purpose, and connection.

With over 25 years of experience as an executive leader, healing practitioner, facilitator, coach, educator, and activist, Laura, a white, Jewish woman, is guided by the belief that what harms one of us, harms all of us, and that liberation for one only possible with liberation for all. Rooted in the natural world, her liberatory practices center on cultivating collective well-being, including aligning purpose to action, fostering vitality, accessing choice and agency, and sharing power.

Since childhood, Laura has sought the refuge of nature as a source of peace and belonging. Through her herbalism practice, she finds allyship with plants to be foundational for reconnecting with our natural state of wholeness and interdependence-- helping us access inner homeostasis, even in the face of great challenges. From this place of balance, Laura believes we are better resourced to weave care into our efforts toward a just, equitable and liberated world.

Julie E Moody-Freeman is an empath teacher healer. She is guided to use Spiritual Herbalism and Galactic Astrology to teach people how to journey with herbs as allies. Guided by the spiritual and galactic qualities of herbs and the planets that rule them, she wants to assist those ready to uncover the true power of the body to heal itself and the loving soulmate that resides within each of us if only we dare to look within ourselves.

Ona McGovern (he/they) is a Black trans earth-worker who is invested in developing a network of care and community education that sees the health of the individual connected to the health of the community and the earth. They are a parent, community herbalist, and writer based in Philadelphia (on Lenape lands) currently touching grass, eating fruit, and talking to plants and people about our mutual relationships. Ona is a 2024 graduate of the Sacred Vibes Spiritual Herbalism apprenticeship.

Ona McGovern

Kelly Pacumio (she/her) is a Filipinx Spiritual Herbalist and a Registered Nurse. She is also the founder of Maharlika Healing, which creates herbal medicine with the intention to help others connect with their roots and provide health and wellness. She is also a natural activist, and creates plant medicine as a means of nourishment, decolonization, social justice, and liberation work. It is inspired from Kelly’s Philippine ancestral lineage, her healing journey, dreams, and astrology. She continues to expand her knowledge through continuous study of herbalism, yoga, movement, reiki, meditation, dreamwork, astrology, and learning from nature. She is a graduate of Sacred Vibes Spiritual Herbalism’s Apprenticeship and will forever be a student of learning the ancestral ways of healing. Kelly intends to bridge the gap between the scientific knowledge of western medicine and the wisdom of traditional herbalism and ancestral ways of healing, who is deeply committed to decolonizing medicine to help serve communities.

At the heart of it all, her learning continues to be inspired by spirit, family, and her connection to plants. Vivian’s purpose is to support you in following your dreams and diving deep into your healing, so that you can move forward in alignment with yourself. She is passionate about healing practices that empower us towards inner and outer transformation, for the benefit of self, community, and the Earth.

Khayla Deans is a cultural worker, spiritual herbalist, and creative consultant who understands the power of storytelling as a tool for healing and collective care. As a multi-hyphenate artist who has created and amplified the stories of others through various mediums as a curator, writer, and image maker, she believes that art and culture are necessary strategies for empowerment & liberation. As a spiritual herbalist, it brings Khayla great joy to invite others to the creative process of healing through the partnership of supportive plant allies. She is the founder of Unearthed Roots & Blossoms, a boutique herbal practice that assists individuals journey through seasons of transformation and self discovery. In addition, she takes delight in offering a multisensory storytelling experience about life, plant medicines, and music via her publication and podcast, A Cup of Tea & Jams.

Khayla Deans

Brittaney Robinson-Whitenhill is a multifaceted horticulturist, herbalist, and community leader that specializes in Afro-Indigenous ethnobotany, working closely with local BIPOC communities to regain food sovereignty and normalize herbal healing as a communal practice. As the founder of Our Backyard LLC, she enjoys designing and cultivating edible gardens for commercial and residential communities as a channel for reconnection back to land and the power it holds. She also has the privilege of serving as the Education Director at Cooperative Empowerment Directive (COFED), equipping land stewards with the resources necessary to embody the practice of cooperative economics. Her practice places education at the heart of her services, aiming to empower her clients to see their relationship with the earth as essential to their wellness.

Brittaney Robinson-Whitenhill

Binta Dixon is the daughter of Southern Black farmers, Indigenous storyweavers, and courageous medicine womxn. Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, Binta is a graduate of Sacred Vibes Level II, an Afrofuturist writer, dreamer, and care advocate rooted in ancestral, nature-based practices. She has worked in community at the intersection of care, imagination, and education for over fifteen years and currently lives in the DMV area.

Alysia Loren Kathlyn Mann Carey

Alysia Loren Kathlyn Mann Carey (they/she) was birthed from the sweet and saltwater crossings of Harbour Island, Bahamas and Madison, WI. Born and raised with her 4 younger siblings in Madison, Alysia played many afternoons with the Gingko tree her grandfather planted and nurtured back to health in the 1950s, planting many seeds of healing they are still uncovering each moment of everyday. Alysia is a godmother, mama-auntie, auntie, sister-sibling, queer beloved soul that seeks to offer and embrace healing magic with Mother Earth. Through their work and un/learnings with spiritual herbalism and earth medicine, Alysia weaves together somatic inquiry, trauma-informed practices and the wisdom offered by plants and herbs to support loved ones and beloved communities in the US, Colombia and Brazil.  As a multiple language learner, translator and interpreter, they connect Black diasporic communities by bridging languages and co-creating spaces and experiences where BlackIndigenous folks can re-encounter, thereby transforming language barriers into expressions that explore the different meanings of the world that we carry within ourselves. Alysia works as a transformative & healing justice facilitator and curriculum developer consultant and offers workshops around embodiment & trauma, intergenerational healing in Spanish, Portuguese and English with the purpose of weaving these knowledges into the creative efforts that continue to work of liberation. Alysia graduated from the Sacred Vibes Spiritual Herbalism Apprenticeship program in June 2025 and is also is finishing up her doctoral studies in political science at the University of Chicago.

Krystal Miller

Krystal Miller is a clinical social worker and a spiritual herbalist that centers her practice on the balance of science and spirit while curating experiences for exploration within community and our inner world. Through her practice, Melanated Masks, she focuses on reconnecting us with our mind, body, soul and the core of our culture. This holistic healing practice includes movement through therapeutic yoga, integrative nutrition, connection to herbal allies and rebuilding the intuition that has always been within us for generations from our ancestors while embodying the energy of an old friend on the stoop. Walking in the spirit of "I am because We are," she provides 1:1 services as well as intimate community conversations around holistic mental wellness and herbalism.
