Minding the Archives Workshop
Archiving extends beyond files in rooms that have been historically inaccessible to marginalized folks. Archives are photo albums, your grandmother's recipe book, preserved herbs, the stories we pass on, and much more.
Minding the Archives is a workshop that sparks our inner archivist, inviting the exploration of ways in which we already archive through ancestral intelligence and how we can utilize it to create more opportunities that honor history in times of it being erased, rewritten, or misrepresented.
This workshop will offer:
The importance & history of archiving, primarily through code, parables, & symbols (especially within Black history)
Herbal protocol and tools that support memory keeping, dreaming, & ancestral connection
Reclamation of ancestral archiving
Tangible tools on how to combat misinformation
Resources for communal archiving
